Options range from free-to-low-cost dharamshalas through mid-range hotels to premium tented camps. Prices rise sharply in the weeks around each Amrit Snan date — book as early as possible, and choose your base town according to which Snan date you're attending.

What's actually available
Dharamshalas & ashrams
The most affordable option, run by religious trusts. Basic facilities, often a short walk further from the main ghats, and require early booking during peak dates.
Hotels & guesthouses
Mid-range comfort concentrated around Gangapur Road and central Nashik. New capacity is being added ahead of 2026–27, but Amrit Snan-week pricing still climbs well above normal rates.
Tent cities & Sadhugram
Premium tented camps offer hotel-like comfort closer to the ghats, while Sadhugram itself houses the Akhadas and many ordinary pilgrims in a more basic, communal setting.
The decision that matters most
Nashik city or Trimbakeshwar?
Because the Kumbh runs across two towns 28–30 km apart, where you book depends entirely on which Snan date you're attending — commuting between them on a peak day is not realistic.
Attending 2 or 31 August?
Base yourself in Nashik city, close to Ramkund and the Panchavati quarter.
Attending 11 September?
Also Nashik — this date is held at Ramkund.
Attending 12 September?
Base yourself in Trimbakeshwar itself. Accommodation options here are smaller in number, so this date requires the earliest booking of all four.
