Read this before you plan any travel
Kumbh Mela Dates is a privately run informational website. It is not a government website, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any central, state, or local government authority, nor any Akhada or religious institution. With a major Kumbh currently underway at Nashik–Trimbakeshwar, we expect a large number of first-time visitors to this site — please read this page in full, not just the summary above, before making any travel or safety decisions.
1. Independent, non-official website
This site is not operated by, and has no formal relationship with, the Government of India, any state government, any municipal or district administration, any Akhada Parishad, or any religious trust. We do not issue permits, passes, or official clearances of any kind, and we cannot intervene on your behalf with any authority.
2. Dates and schedules are subject to change
We calculate and cross-check every date on this site using traditional Panchang methods and publicly available announcements. However:
- Exact Amrit Snan and Shahi Snan days are ultimately confirmed by the relevant state administration and Akhada Parishad, and can shift by a day or more, even close to the event.
- Years shown beyond the next confirmed cycle (for example, dates after 2030) are projected from established astrological patterns and are provisional until formally announced.
- We update this site as soon as we become aware of a change, but we cannot guarantee that every page reflects the very latest official announcement at every moment.
Before finalising any non-refundable booking, travel ticket, or leave application, verify the exact date directly through official government sources.
3. Crowd size and safety risk
Kumbh Mela is among the largest human gatherings on earth, and Amrit Snan days in particular can draw tens of millions of people into a concentrated area within a short window. Large crowds of this scale carry inherent risks, including but not limited to crowd crush, separation from family or group members, heat or cold exposure, and strain on local medical and emergency services.
We publish general planning and safety information on our Travel Guide page, but this is not a substitute for the real-time instructions of police, administration, and volunteer marshals on the ground. In any large-crowd situation, always follow official on-site direction immediately and without hesitation, even if it means a longer or less direct route.
4. Not medical, legal, or professional safety advice
Nothing on this site — including packing checklists, timing suggestions, or safety tips — constitutes medical, legal, or professional safety advice. If you have specific health conditions, travel with young children, elderly or disabled family members, or have any concern about your fitness to be in a large, dense crowd, consult a qualified professional before travelling, and consider your own risk tolerance carefully.
5. In case of emergency
If you or someone near you is in immediate danger during a Kumbh Mela event, contact local police, medical, or emergency services directly and immediately — do not wait for information from this or any other website. Official help desks, lost-and-found centres, and medical camps are typically set up near major ghats during peak Snan periods.
6. No guarantee of accuracy or completeness
This site is provided on an "as is" basis. While we take reasonable care to keep information accurate and current, we make no warranty, express or implied, as to the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of any date, fact, or piece of guidance published here. Your use of this site, and any decision made in reliance on it, is entirely at your own discretion and risk.
7. Advertising
This site may display third-party advertising to support the cost of keeping this information free and publicly available. The presence of an advertisement does not imply our endorsement of the advertiser, their product, or their service. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising cookies are used.
8. External links
Links to third-party websites — including our own sister sites, booking partners, and official government portals — are provided for convenience. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the accuracy, safety, or availability of external content, and linking to a site is not an endorsement of everything published on it.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kumbh Mela Dates and its operators will not be liable for any loss, injury, expense, or inconvenience — direct or indirect — arising from travel, accommodation, or safety decisions made based on information published on this site. This includes, without limitation, losses arising from date changes, crowd conditions, transport disruption, or third-party service providers.
10. Corrections
If you notice an error, an outdated date, or anything that needs correcting on this site, please tell us via our Contact page — we review and act on every report, and corrections are our top editorial priority during high-traffic periods like the current Nashik cycle.
