Bathing is concentrated at Har Ki Pauri, specifically the Brahma Kund section, on the west bank of the Ganga where the river exits the Himalayan foothills and enters the plains. Tradition holds that a drop of Amrit fell here during the Samudra Manthan, and that Vishnu left a footprint on a stone wall at the ghat; the current structure is traditionally linked to King Vikramaditya, roughly 2,000 years old.

No other year on the 2026–2050 calendar packs two independent Amrit Snan sequences into twelve months. That overlap creates real trade-offs worth thinking through before you book anything.
- Nashik's three Amrit Snan days (Aug–Sep) are the main event of the entire 2026–27 Simhastha cycle — this is the date range the Dhwajarohan back in October 2026 was building toward.
- Haridwar's Ardh Kumbh (Jan–Apr) comes first, and being an Ardh (half) rather than Purna Kumbh, it typically draws smaller peak-day crowds than Nashik's August–September dates — a useful data point if crowd density is a deciding factor for you.
- They cannot realistically be combined into one trip. At ~1,300 km apart and five months apart on the calendar, treat them as two separate journeys, not one itinerary.
