Why this site exists

We built Kumbh Mela Dates because good information about Kumbh scheduling was scattered across forums, old news articles and unverifiable forwards. Here's the short version of who we are and how we work.

What we publish

A running, updated calendar of every Kumbh Mela, Ardh Kumbh, Magh Mela and Amrit Snan date from 2026 through 2050, along with the astronomical reasoning behind each one.

How we verify dates

Every date is cross-checked against Panchang (Hindu lunisolar calendar) calculations and public announcements from the relevant state administration and Akhada Parishad before it's marked confirmed.

Who we are not

We are an independent, privately run informational website. We are not a government body, we do not issue permits, and we do not represent any Akhada or religious organisation.

What we commit to

Every page is written specifically for that page — nothing is duplicated across our three sites.

Dates are labelled clearly as "confirmed" or "provisional" until officially gazetted.

We link out to official government sources wherever a binding decision applies.

A note on accuracy

Kumbh Mela dates are set through a combination of astrological calculation and administrative decision-making, which means provisional dates can shift by days or, occasionally, weeks as the event approaches. We update this site as soon as changes are officially announced, but we always recommend confirming exact Amrit Snan days with official sources before finalising travel.
